Neal

Neal Jones

Neal founded Avatar Fitness in 2014.

He has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over a decade. His strong passion for helping people improve their lives through better health and wellness is apparent in the many avenues he has explored and studied.

Neal has been a sports and fitness enthusiast from a young age, and has played golf at a high standard. During a 3 year spell at The University of Central Lancashire studying Golf Coaching and Performance, he attained a handicap of scratch. During this time, he competed in University and County events and represented the University golf team as a player and team captain. He holds the following coaching qualifications:

-BA (Hons) Golf Coaching and Performance
-FdSc Golf Science and Performance

Neal has also studied Martial Arts for many years, and has trained in a number of disciplines, such as; Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, and Kali/Eskrima. Watching Bruce Lee as a young boy sparked his interest in martial arts and he's had a passion for learning different styles ever since.

Neal holds the following Martial Arts qualifications:

Andy

Andy has been involved in the fitness industry for over a decade, and a part of the Avatar Fitness team for 7 years. As well as managing the day-to-day running of the gym, he also provides tailored personal training sessions for his clients.

Andy is also trained on providing body composition assessments to delve deeper into areas such as body fat, muscle mass, and metabolism.

Owen

Owen has recently joined the Avatar Fitness reception team, in particular to provide customer service support and assistance with social media marketing.

He is a fitness enthusiast, enjoying regular training sessions at the gym, and mountain biking. He will be looking to start a personal training course in 2024, to eventually launch his own fitness business!

Dave

Dave has a vast amount of coaching experience, especially in Rugby where he has been a coach and referee for 15 years.

He has a passion for health and fitness and qualified as a Personal Trainer and class instructor in 2021. Dave is trained to deliver a number of fitness classes, including; HIIT Step, HIIT Cardio, Circuits, and Spin.

Barry

Barry is a former Military Physical Training Instructor who was involved at all levels of Unit & Personnel Fitness for over 20 years, before qualifying as a PT.

He is a dedicated Personal Trainer with vast experience of helping people exceed their personal fitness goals. Plans are personalised to fit individual needs & lifestyles.

He is passionate about helping & motivating others to lead healthier lives through sustainable fitness habits. Barry believes in positive reinforcement and constant communication to help keep clients motivated towards success.

With a strong and varied sporting background, Barry now Competes, Coaches & Judges at a variety of Fitness Racing Events around the country.

Chris has been in the health and fitness industry for many years and has a vast amount of experience providing bespoke personal training, and nutrition advice for his clients.

Janet

Janet has been a group exercise instructor in the fitness industry for over 20 years and has been part of the Avatar Fitness team for over 4 years. She is qualified to level 2 in group exercise, enabling her to teach a variety of fitness classes.

Additionally, she has also attained qualifications in Pilates (Level 3 Diploma), Zumba (dance fitness class) and Boxing (Thump Boxing qualification).

The main focus for all Janets classes is that they are FUN and inclusive for everyone.

Janet’s main pastimes are fitness, walking, cycling, cooking, travel, films and theatre.

Tony

Tony’s passion has always been in fitness/sport. Tony has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years now and during this time he has been a Leisure Club Manager, a Store Manager for one of the UK’s biggest fitness equipment suppliers plus also an owner of his own Fitness business for over 10 Years. Tony is renowned for his fitness classes, especially Metafit and Kettlercise. He was the first person to bring the Metafit and Kettlercise classes to the local area in 2011.

Sam

Sam is a yoga & Pranayam (breathe work) teacher. He discovered yoga as a teenager and was immediately drawn to its ability to calm the mind, strengthen the body, and connect you back to the self. He has since devoted his life to studying and practicing yoga, and is passionate about sharing it with others.

With many years of experience, having taught all around the world, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and a playful, supportive energy to his classes.

He believes that yoga is for everyone, and strives to create a safe and inclusive space for his students to explore their practice.

His yoga sessions integrate elements of mindfulness, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation to help students cultivate a deep connection with their bodies and minds.

Polly

Polly has been in the fitness industry for over 15 years and is passionate about making fitness fun and accessible.

Starting out in the Aerial Fitness industry in 2007 Polly eventually found Yoga and it changed her whole outlook on wellness and fitness. Polly decided to train in Yoga and add her own unique style combining a dance and fitness background to create inventive flows. Not forgetting the all important Breathwork and relaxation that is so important in Yoga.

Polly caries out Yoga and toning classes at Avatar Fitness and is a great addition to our team!
